Experteer Overview
In this role you design, implement and commission control loops for power generation projects, upgrading and modifying Mark V/VI/VIe systems and validating software with the technical lead. You review P&IDs, device lists, and instrumentation to align software with site requirements, while supporting start-up and remote commissioning. You work with cross‑functional teams on customer specs, delivering robust, validated control software that meets contractual standards. This is a chance to shape critical plant controls in a global, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and commission new control loops per site requirements
- Upgrade/modify Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe control software
- Develop control software per standards and contractual requirements; obtain technical lead approval
- Review control philosophy, P&IDs, instrument lists, and flowcharts
- Identify and report discrepancies between P&IDs and signals prior to software implementation
- Configure data links and CIMPLICITY screens; conduct SWAT testing
- Modify controls for Power Generation (Steam Turbine, HRSG, BOP) and HMI screens
- Implement TILs; review customer requirements with stakeholders
- Write, test and develop application code with failure mode driven validation
- Provide start-up and remote commissioning support and issue resolution with experts
Key requirements
- Good knowledge of CIMPLICITY and Toolbox ST for gas/steam turbine and plant controls
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience writing control logic using ladder logic/statement list/block diagrams (PLC/DCS engineering)
- Experience with MKVIe, Toolbox ST
- Strong communication, presentation and project management skills
- Experience in global, matrixed organizations and data-based decision making
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; self-starter with broad assignments
