In this role you lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning within a not-for-profit housing organization. You will provide detailed analysis to inform decisions and partner with department heads to align budgets with strategic goals. You’ll identify risks and opportunities, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the preparation of financial statements. You’ll also mentor the finance team and drive continuous improvements in planning and reporting. This position offers a meaningful impact on service delivery through solid financial stewardship.
Compensation / Benefits
- £80,000 per annum
- 30 days holiday
- Private healthcare
- Volunteer days (up to 7 per year)
- Permanent position based in London
Responsibilities
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with goals
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports for decision-making across the organization
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets
- Identify and report financial risks and opportunities to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices in the not-for-profit sector
- Support preparation of financial statements and stakeholder reports
- Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team to achieve objectives
- Drive continuous improvement in financial planning and reporting processes
Key requirements
- Professional qualifications in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- In-depth knowledge of social housing and its financial regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
