Experteer Overview
In this role you support senior ABF investment professionals across New York and London, helping to source opportunities, conduct due diligence, and move investments through the process. You will engage with asset originators and advisors, build financial models, and prepare memoranda for the investment committee. You’ll become familiar with ABF capital pools and regulatory constraints, while coaching junior team members. Your work drives client outcomes and supports the growth of Oaktree’s ABF platform.

Responsibilities
- Assist senior ABF professionals across all investment phases, from sourcing to realization
- Follow up on introductions and inquiries relevant to the ABF strategy
- Collect, evaluate, organize and summarize initial information (teasers, decks, emails)
- Participate in calls/meetings with originators, borrowers, sellers and advisors
- Lead or participate in diligence, term negotiations, and documentation; build models and memos for the ABF investment committee
- Understand ABF capital pools, fund guidelines, regulators, and internal policies
- Present investment information to clients, prospects, financing providers, and co-investors
- Monitor, surveil, and value existing investments
- Train and supervise associates and analysts on the ABF team
- Perform other tasks as required
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience in asset finance or structuring at an investment bank or investing across securitized collateral types at an investment manager
- Strong quantitative background; proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience reviewing financial agreements and extracting key business points
- Knowledge of fixed income fundamentals, asset-backed finance and securitization
- Experience with private asset-backed investments and leading rating processes is a plus (not required)
