As a Senior Actuarial Consultant in CNA’s pricing team, you will develop and recommend complex actuarial pricing and rating plans for commercial auto and general liability. You will partner with business leaders across the organization to influence pricing decisions with actionable insights. You’ll monitor profitability and trends, build tools, and mentor teammates while staying current on actuarial developments. This role combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration to support CNA’s global market strategy and innovation in pricing.

Responsibilities

Build strong partnerships with business units and actuaries to shape segment pricing strategy using insights and analytics.
Provide actuarial analyses to inform pricing decisions and create or modify pricing tools as needed.
Monitor profitability, reserving, and claims trends; share results and recommendations with underwriters and pricing leaders.
Guide less experienced team members and manage projects as needed.
Produce complex actuarial analyses and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Stay current on actuarial techniques and industry trends; drive process improvements with well-documented methods.

Key requirements

Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent)
Typically seven or more years of related experience
ACAS designation; pursuing FCAS (or FCAS attained)
