As Senior Accountant at Vistex, you oversee complex accounting activities and ensure accuracy of financial records. You will support the financial close and reporting, manage balance sheet accounts, and guide junior staff while maintaining compliance with accounting standards. You will liaise with external auditors and tax advisers, and help develop accounting processes at the Walldorf site. This role offers impact across reporting, controls, and process improvements within a global software and services environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under HGB and US-GAAP
- Manage payroll accounting
- Oversee foreign subsidiaries and be the main reporting contact
- Develop accounting processes at the Walldorf site
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and tax authorities
- Prepare and review complex journal entries for general ledger
- Lead reconciliations of balance sheet and GL accounts
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks or unusual transactions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls and standards
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for management
- Support audit processes with documentation and inquiries
- Collaborate with finance and operations to ensure data accuracy
- Review work of associates and guide accounting procedures
- Participate in implementing new policies, systems, or process improvements
- Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting where applicable
- Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and reporting efficiency
- Support other team members and perform duties as assigned by Manager
Key requirements
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong experience with financial close processes and account reconciliations
- Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- 7-9 years in accounting or financial reporting roles
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams
- Ability to mentor junior staff and review work
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and accounting transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred
