Senior Specialist / Project Manager

Responsibilities

Execute productivity initiatives across formulation, processes, ingredients, and cost optimization
Support quality improvement projects using scientific methods, data analysis, and problem-solving
Contribute to End-to-End Quality Program activities and cross-functional follow-up
Develop and maintain standardized R&D processes, templates, and best practices
Plan and conduct lab, pilot, and manufacturing-scale experiments and provide technical recommendations
Support consumer-driven innovation, including formulation, sensory evaluation, shelf-life, and scale-up
Perform and verify R&D calculations (formulation math, yield, cost)
Create technical documentation (summaries, specs, reports, recommendations)
Support plant trials, process validation, startup, and troubleshooting during manufacturing
Collaborate with external/internal experts for analytical, sensory, and consumer research
Conduct economic evaluations on ingredients and formulations to drive profitability
Participate in cross-functional project teams (Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, Quality)
Develop and maintain product attribute specifications for ingredients and finished products
Use critical thinking to solve technical and organizational challenges
Work through ambiguous problems to determine options and next steps
Demonstrate teamwork and project coordination to deliver on time and budget

Key requirements

S. in Food Science & Technology or related field; advanced degree preferred
2+ years in product development; beverage experience a plus
Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and documentation; PowerPoint for presenting findings
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Experience working in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments
Experience with lab/analytical equipment (pH meter, Brix meter, centrifuge, balance)
Strong attention to detail and math/calculation skills (formulations, solids, dilution, yield, cost)
Ability to build cross-functional relationships (Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Sales)
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change
Project coordination skills (timelines, milestones, documentation)
Ability to translate business objectives into technical deliverables
Willingness to travel 15-25%
