As RF Systems Architect, you define end-to-end RF system architecture to move breakthrough technology into a manufacturable product. You shape the interface between RF design, software, algorithms and validation, ensuring a scalable, production-ready platform. The role sits in the architecture/CTO function in Cambridge, driving productisation and customer readiness. You partner with senior technical leaders to reduce risk and align system-level performance with real-world use cases. This is a high-impact, cross-disciplinary role at the intersection of architecture, product strategy and system validation.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end RF system architecture across RFIC, control, calibration, software and validation
Translate product and technical requirements into system and subsystem specifications
Define system modelling, feasibility and performance analysis aligned to product roadmap
Act as the cross-disciplinary technical bridge between RF, software, algorithms and test teams
Define system validation strategy including simulation, measurement and corner-case coverage
Drive resolution of gaps between simulated and measured system performance
Identify architectural risks, trade-offs and mitigation strategies
Support productisation and ensure system architecture aligns with real customer use cases
Contribute to technical material and support high-level technical discussions with customers and partners
Promote structured engineering thinking, clear documentation and evidence-based decision making

Key requirements

Strong background in RF systems, RFIC or RF module development within commercial products
Experience working across RF design, embedded software, algorithms and validation/test
Proven ability to operate at system level balancing performance, complexity, manufacturability and risk
Experience defining RF system architecture, performance budgets and technical specifications
Hands-on understanding of RF measurement, system debugging and real-world hardware behaviour
Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Comfortable challenging assumptions and driving technical clarity
