In this role you lead the Regional Network marketing and communications function, shaping strategy and ensuring alignment with the enterprise brand. You guide a regional team to drive growth, reputation, and engagement through integrated campaigns. You will advise regional executives, partner with clinical and operational leaders, and translate enterprise priorities into locally relevant plans. This is an opportunity to influence growth and brand coherence across multiple hospitals within a complex healthcare system.
Responsibilities
- Represent Regional Network priorities on the Department of Communications executive leadership team and align central and regional marcom
- Advise regional executives on strategy, reputation management, growth, and stakeholder engagement
- Partner with clinical/operational leaders to identify growth opportunities and create measurable plans
- Govern resource allocation and prioritization for regional marketing and communications
- Lead integration of people, processes, and technology between regional and centralized teams
- Promote alignment of regional brands with Michigan Medicine master brand and shared services
- Translate enterprise strategies into locally relevant marcom and employee engagement plans
- Ensure consistent brand standards and messaging across Regional Network markets
- Oversee local marketing budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation
- Provide local leadership, coaching, and performance management for regional staff
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with enterprise values
- Clarify roles within a matrixed reporting structure
- Support vendor management and local agency relationships as needed
Key requirements
- 8+ years of progressive marketing/communications experience, preferably in healthcare or a complex matrixed organization
- Proven leadership in matrixed environments and cross-functional influence
- Experience budget management and operational leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field; Master preferred
- Strong strategic thinking and executive presence with ability to translate strategy into action
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with C-suite stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate with hospital and medical group leadership to set growth targets and KPIs
- Enterprise mindset with local market sensitivity; influencing without direct authority
- Change management and stakeholder engagement skills
