In this role you lead the Radiology Services department to ensure safe, high-quality imaging care. You collaborate with Medical Staff and cross-functional teams to align staffing, training, and budgets with patient safety and organizational goals. You oversee performance improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance while maintaining service excellence. You also contribute hands-on radiologic duties when needed, balancing leadership with patient-focused care. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to shape departmental culture and radiology operations at scale.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, supportive leadership and timely staff support
- Coordinate department activities to ensure patient and staff safety
- Serve as professional liaison with Medical Staff and ensure staffing meets population needs
- Oversee staffing plans, competency, orientation, and performance evaluations
- Develop and manage the department budget and monitor financial details
- Promote Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and PI participation among staff
- Perform radiographic exams when required and maintain image quality and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with ARRT/CRT, HIPAA, DOS/DHS/CMS standards and state/federal regulations
- Foster staff development, attendance, safety, and effective communication with stakeholders
- Maintain department organization, safety training, and adherence to emergency codes and hospital policies
- Encourage collaboration, teamwork, and customer service excellence
- Identify and address hazards and opportunities for process improvements
- Attend mandatory trainings and contribute to safety and workflow improvements
Key requirements
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Specialized training in Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound (preferred)
- Supervisory experience in medical imaging
- Previous experience as a radiology technician
- Current California ARRT and CRT licenses
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Strong verbal and written skills
