In this role you lead the Radiology Services department to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. You will supervise staff, coordinate department activities, and manage resources to meet safety and performance goals. You act as a liaison to the Medical Staff and drive continuous quality improvement and regulatory compliance. This position offers an opportunity to shape departmental culture, develop teams, and influence patient outcomes at a mission-driven hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and effective leadership to staff and respond to requests promptly
- Coordinate department activities to ensure patient and staff safety
- Act as professional liaison with Medical Staff
- Ensure staffing plans meet population needs and manage hiring processes
- Ensure staff competency, orientation, and performance evaluations
- Develop and manage department goals, budget, and adherence to patient safety standards
- Educate staff in performance improvement methodologies and promote participation
- Prepare and report departmental activities and findings as scheduled
- Perform radiographic exams when needed and monitor technical quality
- Maintain compliance with policies, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Foster teamwork, communication, and proactive problem-solving
- Support patient rights and customer service initiatives
- Ensure safe work practices and hospital safety policies
- Promote continuous quality improvement and department-wide initiatives
- Attend mandatory inservice trainings and advocate for safer equipment layouts
- Maintain department cleanliness and hazard controls
- Understand emergency codes and hospital safety procedures
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and professional behavior
- Verify appropriate documentation and attendance per policy
Key requirements
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology (required)
- AMA-accredited radiologic technology program graduate
- Supervisory experience in medical imaging
- Previous radiology technician experience
- Current California ARRT and CRT licenses
- BCLS certification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
