Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Perform patient assessments, review histories, and determine optimal radiation approaches
- Utilize CT, MRI, and PET imaging to accurately target tumors and plan treatment
- Safely administer radiation therapy following established protocols
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed based on response
- Educate patients and families about treatment, side effects, and supportive care
- Stay updated on advancements in radiation oncology through CME and conferences
- Contribute to research and clinical trials and integrate evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation in compliance with regulations
Key requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- Residency in Radiation Oncology from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Radiation Oncology
- Valid medical license to practice in California
- Strong clinical acumen in designing and delivering radiation therapy
- Excellent communication skills with patients and families
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety/quality standards
- Proficiency with medical software, EHR, and treatment planning systems
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and pursue ongoing professional development
