Experteer Overview
In this role, you help build and maintain MassMutual’s Python-based dividend modeling platform for participating whole life products. You will translate business needs into sustainable models, collaborating with actuarial subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, governance, and production readiness. You’ll contribute to modernizing the modeling ecosystem and expand into core analytical and dividend-setting work. This is a hands-on position with strong emphasis on impact, governance, and long-term modeling capability growth.

Responsibilities
- Convert, enhance, and own the Python-based dividend modeling platform for participating whole life products
- Translate business requirements and analytical requests into maintainable, well-documented solutions
- Collaborate with actuarial SMEs to support model validation, testing, and production readiness
- Promote sound development standards, testing frameworks, documentation, and governance in modeling
- Over time, broaden scope to include assumption development, regulatory testing, and dividend liability analysis
- Support modernization of legacy models and contribute to the team's analytics and dividend-setting work
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Actuarial Science, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, engineering, or related quantitative field
- ASA designation
- 5+ years actuarial experience in insurance/financial services or related field
- 3+ years Python programming experience supporting analytical or modeling applications
- Experience developing, maintaining, validating, or enhancing actuarial/financial models
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions and manage multiple priorities
