In this role you support private equity clients through the full lifecycle of M&A transactions by evaluating target company insurance programs and risks. You will work with cross-functional deal teams to identify coverage gaps, prepare due diligence reports, and guide insurance decisions from initial review to post-close integration. The role combines technical insurance expertise with strategic advisory, enabling you to influence deal outcomes and risk management. This is a fast-paced, deal-driven environment with exposure to PE, M&A, and Representations & Warranties insurance. You will thrive by turning complex risk data into actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support commercial insurance due diligence for private equity transactions from initial review to completion
- Analyze target insurance programs (structure, claims history, collateral, spend) to identify uninsured risks and gaps
- Collaborate with private equity deal teams, target leadership, and advisors to ensure thorough diligence
- Assist in placement and underwriting of Representations & Warranties (R&W) insurance
- Prepare and present due diligence reports with key findings and recommendations
- Support post-close alignment of insurance programs with PE-backed structures
Key requirements
- 1–10 years of experience in a brokerage or carrier environment
- Preferably project management experience with insurance due diligence in M&A
- Solid understanding of commercial insurance lines
- Desire to work with private equity funds and investors
