Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will plan and coordinate design activities for renewable projects (solar, utility-scale, and C&I), managing internal and external resources to meet HSE, quality, and performance targets. You will support the sales process with technical input and ensure solutions align with client needs and standards, while controlling time and cost. After project delivery, you will assist O&M with technical issues. This is a hands-on role within Ameresco’s renewable team, based in Milan with project visits as required.

Responsibilities

Manage technical advisors, services and engineering contracts across all project phases ensuring quality and safety.
Ensure projects align with client requirements, internal standards, regulatory constraints, permits, and third-party agreements.
Define technically feasible solutions that optimize cost and plant performance.
Prepare preliminary layout and BoQ to evaluate total project cost with relevant units (Procurement, PM, etc.).
Draft technical specifications for material procurement and assess bidders during procurement.
Plan and control design activity schedules and contribute to the General Project Program.
Provide technical support to Construction Manager during construction and for grid connection documentation.
Review and assist other Project Engineers on design reviews based on area of expertise.
Provide technical support to O&M after project delivery.

Key requirements

Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil)
At least 3 years’ experience in technical design of Renewable Energy Projects
Experience in reviewing and producing electrical/civil/mechanical calculations for Solar and Storage projects
Knowledge of renewable energy regulations and safety standards
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and AutoCAD
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
