Senior Specialist / Project Manager
Experteer Overview
You will provide both team leadership and technical oversight for food manufacturing, coordinating safety, quality, production control, and new products. Your role ensures safe, cost-effective production that meets customer and consumer expectations. You will lead on the plant floor, drive GMP and safety compliance, and shape a culture of continuous improvement within the plant.

Responsibilities
- Monitor product quality during production and uphold standards
- Manage and evaluate operations supervision and support staff
- Coach and develop supervision in the operations group
- Enforce GMP and safety policies and address deviations
- Lead daily scheduling and planning meetings
- Oversee operations, warehousing, and performance appraisals
- Lead on-floor presence and serve as senior plant leader in absence of Plant Manager
- Maintain and assist with plant budgets and annual budget prep
- Handle HR and operations/warehousing issues as a decision maker
- Contribute to monthly financial reviews with Corporate leadership
- Oversee all departments daily to preempt issues
- Coordinate safety, EHS programs, and regulatory compliance
- Complete special orders within shipping/sales timeframes
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations with Maintenance/Operations
- Maintain clean, organized production areas and facility compliance
- Participate in Plant Safety Committee
- Ensure SOP adherence and determine corrective actions
- Provide backup for downtime and staffing; manage changeovers
- Align scheduling with departments to meet supply demands
- Drive long-term plant culture and improvements
- Ensure food safety/quality policies are followed and escalate as needed
- Enforce GMPs and report unsafe acts or conditions
- Perform other duties as required
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Business Management, Engineering, Food Science)
- 7–10 years in management within food manufacturing
- Direct supervision experience for efficiency in personnel and production lines
- Knowledge of product line capabilities and all aspects of product quality
- Strong computer literacy and leadership/communication skills
- Ability to work with upper management and cross-departments to ensure product supply
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and TPM
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and SQF
