Experteer Overview
In this role you will embed privacy into Snap’s ads ranking and targeting systems, collaborating with product, engineering, legal, security, and data teams to build scalable privacy controls. You’ll drive privacy reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments, while leveraging AI-enabled workflows to deliver privacy-preserving, production-ready solutions. You’ll shape privacy standards across the company and support privacy-safe advertising and measurement.

Responsibilities
- Embed privacy into ads ranking and targeting systems
- Translate privacy requirements into practical controls with cross-functional partners
- Develop and scale privacy-preserving approaches and auditing practices across Snap’s ads ecosystem
- Design and implement privacy controls for production systems considering architecture, scale, and reliability
- Lead privacy reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for products, data flows, APIs, and designs
- Utilize AI tools and fast engineering workflows to ship scalable, secure services
- Support privacy-safe advertising and measurement
- Evaluate privacy-preserving approaches for machine-learning systems (leakage/attacks)
- Help define and evolve privacy standards, tooling, and documentation across Snap
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of post-bachelor’s privacy, security, software engineering, or related experience; or a master’s degree with 1+ year; or a PhD in a relevant field
- Expertise in privacy engineering, privacy reviews, data governance, privacy-safe advertising or measurement, or privacy-preserving ML and security engineering
- Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals and ability to conduct privacy reviews and threat modeling
