In this Principal Engineer role, you define and drive the reliability strategy for Saviynt’s SaaS platform. You will shape how the platform is designed, operated, and measured for reliability at scale, collaborating with infrastructure, platform, and application teams. The role focuses on building reusable, scalable infrastructure components and services across multi-cloud environments. You will work on hard reliability problems, promote cross-team impact, and help drive mission-critical performance for customers. This position offers a meaningful chance to influence architecture and ensure globally available platform services.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain shared infrastructure services used by product and application teams
Create reusable, reliable, and scalable platform components to abstract complexity for other teams
Architect and manage highly available Kubernetes platforms as a service
Develop internal tooling and automation for infrastructure provisioning using Go
Architect and optimize cloud foundations (AWS, Azure) with reusable patterns
Design and implement shared Event-Driven Architecture components (Kafka, RMQ, NATS)
Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, ArgoCD) as a service
Build resilient distributed systems and global, multi-region infrastructure
Establish centralized observability and monitoring for self-service insights
Define RESTful APIs for infrastructure services and implement Service Mesh capabilities (Envoy, Istio)
Design and optimize shared relational database services
Collaborate with product teams to address infra needs and on-call rotations

Key requirements

9+ years in infrastructure development, platform engineering, or SRE
Deep Kubernetes production experience including single-tenant and multi-tenant deployments
Proficiency in Go and Python for backend services and automation
Extensive cloud experience (GCP required; multi-cloud a plus)
Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (Kafka, RMQ, NATS)
CI/CD expertise (GitLab CI) and automated delivery processes
Distributed systems design and operation
Multi-region cloud experience for global availability
Observability/monitoring expertise (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
RESTful API design and service design
Service Mesh knowledge (Istio)
Relational databases experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Excellent communication and customer-centric mindset
Advanced Professional GCP Certification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
