As a Power Systems Engineer at ABB, you will lead and contribute to complex electrical projects for global clients in a hybrid work setting. You’ll develop technical and consulting capabilities within a progressive electrical consultancy, growing toward an industry-recognized specialist. You will translate client needs into practical engineering solutions and ensure outputs meet quality, time, and budget targets. Your work helps strengthen power system reliability and grid integration, contributing to ABB’s mission of cleaner, smarter infrastructure. This role offers exposure to high-impact projects and cross-functional collaboration that shapes critical electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input and leadership on complex projects
  • Collaborate with clients to translate requirements into engineering solutions
  • Ensure deliverables meet client expectations, quality standards, timelines, and budgets
  • Conduct in-depth power system analyses using industry tools and methodologies
  • Prepare technical and non-technical reports with clear recommendations
  • Attend client meetings, build relationships, and manage expectations
  • Track project performance and client satisfaction
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers; participate in online training where applicable
  • Engage in typical projects like power system studies, protection coordination, and grid integration

Key requirements

  • 3+ years in power systems engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of power system analysis tools (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP or similar)
  • Experience in protection system design, settings development, and coordination studies
  • Exposure to transformer and bus differential protection, REF and directional protection schemes
  • Electrical calculations and designs in accordance with IEC standards
  • Knowledge of power quality, harmonics, and renewable energy integration (advantage)
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Proficient English communication for technical presentations
