You lead the Manufacturing Operations’ Business Unit, driving people development, safety, and performance to deliver value for People, Profit & Planet. You act as the plant ambassador, aligning shop goals with the broader Michelin strategy and championing sustainability, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. You improve processes, coach teams, and implement ICARE values to foster a safe, inclusive culture. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes the unit’s contribution to customer value and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Business Unit team, fostering career growth and succession within the Shop.
- Share guidelines across Business Units and contribute to overall Plant performance through collaboration and ONE MANUFACTURING TEAM mindset.
- Coach and provide feedback to team members; oversee performance of support staff and drive improvements.
- Align shop strategy with plant goals; communicate vision and ensure team contribution to overall success.
- Uphold safety as a core principle and manage attendance records and related issues.
- Champion sustainability; implement environmental strategies and biodiversity initiatives.
- Lead with ICARE values, fostering inclusion, safety, collaboration and collective intelligence.
- Drive Operational Excellence using MMW/MDP+OR/MAPP methodologies and maintain Fundamentals for industrial efficiency.
- Promote data-driven transformation by applying digital use cases and supporting digitalization projects.
- Engage support teams and plant stakeholders to empower transformation initiatives.
- Support industrializations, modifications, and collaborations with Local Site Digital Departments.
Key requirements
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- MBA or Masters of Engineering preferred
- 3–5 years of people management experience in an industrial setting
- Proven track record in performance management (attendance, productivity, skill growth, talent supervision) and operational oversight (safety, production, quality, cost control)
- Experience with industrial site utilities is beneficial (steam, wastewater, air, nitrogen, cooling water)
- Experience in Process Safety Management is advantageous
- Prior experience in a unionized setting is advantageous
