In this role you lead a high-impact development function in Lausanne, driving private funding growth and strengthening donor relationships. You will shape a strategic fundraising program and position the organization as a compelling investment for alumni, foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals. You will manage major gifts, inspire cross-functional teams, and represent the organization at external events. Your work accelerates organizational growth and enhances long-term philanthropic partnerships.

Responsibilities

Define and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons
Identify strategic funding priorities and develop compelling cases aligned with organizational goals
Build and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects; lead end-to-end major gift initiatives
Establish long-term high-value donor relationships and partnerships
Leverage alumni and community networks to enhance engagement and giving
Design and deliver targeted fundraising campaigns and initiatives
Define KPIs, track pipeline and revenue, and report progress to senior leadership
Lead a team of 4 and collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders
Act as an ambassador at events and external engagements

Key requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or strategic business development
Proven ability to design and execute high-impact fundraising strategies
Experience managing senior stakeholders within complex ecosystems
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong results orientation
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
Strategic thinking with execution excellence
Experience with CRM tools and performance tracking
Fluent in French and English (written and spoken); German is a plus
