In this Consultant Paediatric role you will lead Neurology and Epilepsy services within a trust-wide paediatric department. You will balance inpatient care (including neonatal and short-term intensive care) with outpatient clinics, while contributing to on-call rotations. The position offers substantial clinical leadership and service development opportunities in a supportive, inclusive environment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve neuro-pediatric care and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Neurology and Epilepsy services.
- Manning paediatric on-call rotations and provide Advice and Guidance.
- Conduct Rapid Access clinics and safeguard medicals.
- Oversee inpatient and outpatient paediatric care including neonatal ICU and ambulatory care.
- Support clinical governance and service development.
- Participate in flexible outpatient scheduling to suit team and patients.
Key requirements
- Full GMC Registration
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT (within 6 months of interview) or CESR/portfolio pathway or European Community Rights
- Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Resuscitation skills in last 4 years
- 5 years clinical paediatrics experience at middle grade level including neonatal unit exposure
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop services
- Ability to demonstrate competencies equivalent to Specialist training
