As an Operations Manager in Training, you will lead the Service Operations at one or more locations, collaborating with Sales, Business Office and Purchasing to deliver an outstanding associate and customer experience. You will drive process improvements, manage P&L, and develop the team to support store growth. The role blends hands-on operations with strategic vision, shaping service quality and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Manage teams and processes for vehicle production and servicing
  • Analyze reports and trends to identify business opportunities
  • Oversee financials with P&L management
  • Identify waste and implement value-added process improvements
  • Interview, hire, train, and promote associates for Service Operations
  • Lead execution of company and store initiatives for consistency
  • Resolve customer and associate issues
  • Facilitate meetings and conference calls
  • Develop associates

Key requirements

  • Ability to read, interpret and transcribe data for accurate records
  • Completion of CarMax training in Inventory, Cosmetic, and Production processes
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective cross-department Communication
  • Independent judgment for critical business decisions
  • Identify business opportunities and propose improvements
  • 3+ years of managerial experience, retail management preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Willingness to stand/walk and work in varied environments
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and 12-hour days
  • Occasional travel; potential relocation
