Senior Specialist / Project Manager
Experteer Overview
In this role you will support NPI, ramp to volume production, and continuous improvement across electronics, optics, and mechanical systems. You’ll translate designs into manufacturable processes, build and validate assemblies, and drive cost, quality, and schedule improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, document manufacturing transition, and enable robust production. This position offers impact through scaling, process optimization, and supplier collaboration in a global context.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, sequences, and processes for parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies
- Estimate costs, set time standards, and specify tooling and process needs for new or existing products
- Configure BOMs to meet production requirements
- Create documentation and provide training to assemblers and technicians for new products
- Test and qualify electrical, mechanical, and optical components/modules
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve incoming material quality
- Develop build sequences for system assembly, calibration, and certification
- Analyze manufacturing data and drive process improvements to meet design specifications
- Read electrical designs/schematics and update CAD-based designs as needed
- Coordinate with engineers to resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
- Address product-level issues including supplier quality, escalations, and improvement projects
- Demonstrate SPC-driven process control and data-driven decision making
- Develop and maintain production documentation and tooling/fixturing
Key requirements
- Competency in electrical and mechanical manufacturing processes, tooling and fixture design
- Ability to carry out tests and analyze data (design of experiments)
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
- Experience testing and qualifying electronic materials/components, optical components, and modules
- Experience with supplier development and improving incoming material quality
- Effective communication with peers, interdisciplinary teams, customers, and suppliers
- Experience with electrical design, schematic capture, layout and simulation software
- Experience with manufacturing control systems (ERP, PLM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); VBA, MS Project, Visio are pluses
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10%)
