In this role you will lead our weeknight newscasts and featured digital content as a multiplatform anchor. You will drive engaging, ad-libbed storytelling while upholding journalistic integrity and collaborating across the newsroom. As a visible on-air and off-screen leader, you shape how stories are presented and connect with community partners. You will innovate presentation for today’s audiences and guide viewers through breaking news with credibility and poise. This is a high-impact position with a strong focus on leadership, collaboration, and audience engagement.

Responsibilities
- Anchor weeknight newscasts and additional news specials for the station's app
- Maintain content quality and journalistic standards
- Ad-lib and interact with co-anchors and field crews live
- Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations
- Write and deliver clear news scripts for broadcasts and website
- Assist in researching, copy editing, and coordinating digital content
- Present stories creatively to engage contemporary audiences
- Utilize social media to promote content and drive engagement
- Be actively involved in editorial process and news cycle
- Develop community contacts and news sources; pursue special reports and station partnerships

- Excellent news judgment with broad knowledge of local and national events
- Strong on-air presentation: credible, personable, engaging
- Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
- Outstanding ad-libbing and live interview skills
- Ability to take direction and provide constructive feedback
- Active listening and teamwork to shape solutions
- Strong time-management and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
- Flexible scheduling including holidays and different shifts as required
