As a Network Design Engineer, you will support the deployment and troubleshooting of GDMS cyber products within customer networks, helping them deploy secure solutions. You’ll work with advanced technologies to deliver effective network designs and training, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. You drive successful product installations, testing and documentation, while developing training materials and delivering instruction. This role offers exposure to mission-critical systems and a clear impact on national security efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical product support via phone, email and field support when needed
  • Install, troubleshoot and configure GDMS cyber products on customer networks
  • Develop and validate technical documentation including network diagrams
  • Conduct onsite and offsite technical training and develop training materials
  • Present technical information clearly to diverse audiences and facilitate learning
  • Proofread and improve training materials for accuracy and clarity
  • Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Communicate with management, staff and customers at all levels
  • Participate in rotating on-call after-hours support
  • Travel up to 25% after instructor qualification

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance and US citizenship
  • Subject matter expert in one discipline with working knowledge in adjacent fields
  • Ability to design and plan network systems and tackle complex problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to train or present to groups
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting network systems including firewalls, DNS, VPN, LAN, WLAN, Cisco/Juniper devices, Windows servers
  • Certifications such as CCNA, Security+, Network+ (as listed)
  • Proactive, independent, and able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
