In this role you ensure the stability and availability of mission-critical systems within a 24/7 Monitoring Center. You work closely with cross-functional technical teams to validate alerts, manage incidents, and follow defined runbooks to keep services running smoothly. The position supports a Swiss financial infrastructure provider in Zürich on a 12-month contract, with a focus on hands-on NOC operations and ITSM tooling. You will operate in a fast-paced, structured environment and engage in on-call communications and incident coordination to minimize impact.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor events and alerts across infrastructure, applications, and services
Verify and validate events, identify false positives/duplicates
Classify, prioritize, and correlate events per criteria
Handle incidents using documented solutions and workarounds
Intervene during exceptional system situations
Monitor processing and failure logs
Execute runbooks and escalation workflows
Escalate to on-call engineers and support teams
Moderate and lead incident bridge calls with technical experts
Document actions, escalations, and outcomes accurately
Ensure compliance with operational, security, and documentation standards

Key requirements

1st-hand experience in 24/7 NOC or IT Operations environments
Practical experience with BMC Helix ITSM
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High reliability and accuracy in operational execution
Clear communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Availability to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Fluency in German and English (spoken & written)
