As a Medior Backend Engineer at Sendcloud, you help power our core platform in a hybrid Eindhoven setting. You translate product needs into actionable technical plans and drive end-to-end delivery with cross-functional teams. You write clean, well-tested Python and contribute to a distributed, event-driven architecture used by thousands of merchants. You focus on observability, performance, and reliability, owning your work from code to production. This role blends hands-on development with mentoring and impact across the shipping tech stack.

Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into technical plans, milestones and steps
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, DevOps, QA and other engineering teams to align on delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of team projects from discovery to rollout
- Identify risks early and keep the team aligned and unblocked
- Mentor teammates and elevate delivery practices within the team
- Write clean, scalable, well-tested Python code
- Contribute to a distributed, event-driven architecture used by merchants
- Improve observability, performance and reliability across systems
- Own what you build, from code to production
Key requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Python and frameworks like FastAPI or Django
- Hands-on experience building and working with REST APIs
- Code under test and version control (Git)
- Experience with Linux and the command line
- Design code with production observability in mind
- Experience developing distributed and scalable systems
- Experience with at least one: Docker, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Good written and verbal English communication
- Collaborative mindset and mentoring interest
