Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret medical laboratory tests and analyses to aid diagnosis and treatment
  • Operate delicate laboratory equipment with precision
  • Collect and process all specimen types including esoteric testing
  • Utilize LIS and HIS/HER systems for data entry and reporting
  • Follow technical instructions and quality control procedures
  • Maintain annual competency and participate in proficiency testing
  • Troubleshoot technical issues per department policies
  • Ensure accurate patient reporting and adherence to QC processes

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Science
  • Completion of Medical Lab Science internship
  • Eligible for ASCP or equivalent within 12 months of hire
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Adherence to clinic and hospital policies, mission, and values
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
