In this role you will lead automotive media planning efforts, guiding cross-functional teams to develop and optimize integrated plans. You’ll present strategy and results to senior client stakeholders and coordinate budgets, timelines, and approvals. You will build strong vendor relationships and drive innovative media solutions while mentoring the planning team. This position sits at the intersection of strategy, negotiation, and performance analysis, shaping campaigns that meet client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, and optimization of integrated media plans for automotive clients
  • Present media plans and rationale to clients and internal teams
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, and supporting materials
  • Train and supervise planners and assistants across media channels
  • Monitor live campaigns and ensure timely optimizations and reporting
  • Negotiate with vendors and manage post-buy analyses and reporting
  • Develop POVs in response to client needs
  • Maintain productive relationships with account teams and stakeholders
  • Attend vendor briefings to evaluate new services and maintain vendor relations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 8-10+ years of media planning experience in an advertising/marketing agency
  • Experience supporting automotive clients
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Broad media channel expertise across traditional and digital
  • Proven ability to develop high-quality media strategies with measurable results
  • Experience negotiating short- and long-term vendor contracts
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with major media planning technologies (e.g., Telmar, IMS Reach/Frequency, Kantar, Nielsen, Comscore, MRI-Simmons, Scarborough, Strata)
