In this role you will lead the Quality Care Assurance Team (QCAT) to advance hospital quality, safety, and patient experience. You will translate board direction into actionable quality programs across care teams, promoting standard practices and high reliability. You’ll partner with senior leaders and clinicians to measure progress, drive improvement, and engage patients and families. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to shape quality strategy and achieve national benchmarks in care quality and patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct the QCAT activities and chair the QCAT Committee
- Collaborate with CMQO, VP-Quality, VP-CMIO & CTO and other leaders to implement quality programs
- Lead the Physician Daily Quality Report (PDQR) on a rotational basis
- Translate BQPSC/QP goals into action plans and projects
- Develop and adjust plans with department leaders to meet prioritized quality goals
- Engage providers, caregivers, patients and families in quality initiatives
- Promote adoption of standardized best practices and reduce unnecessary variation
- Develop SMART measures with front-line clinicians and QCAT members
- Report performance and promote accountability for quality goals
- Collaborate with IT, data teams and analysts to enable dashboards and analytics
- Foster a culture of safety, high reliability and performance excellence
- Maintain current competency in quality and patient safety
- Participate in recognition programs for high performers
- Coordinate with iSparrow and health information teams to support quality goals
- Leverage predictive analytics to target priority areas (readmission, sepsis, LOS, etc.)
- Share quality improvement initiatives and performance with stakeholders
Key requirements
- Five years clinical experience
- MD/DO from an accredited university
- Board Certification or equivalence in respiratory-related field
- Experience as Medical Director of Adult Critical Care Education
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills
