In this role you shape the Flow & Thermal architecture for cutting-edge high-tech equipment, collaborating across mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software and mathematics to deliver performant solutions. You translate customer needs into specifications, define the F&T architecture and oversee testing and integration to close the V-cycle. You set up modeling strategies to connect analysis to system performance and ensure safety and quality. You manage stakeholders and foster networks, while driving innovation and adoption of new technologies, from Eindhoven or at client sites.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, project manager and design team to balance performance, cost and risk
Translate customer needs into F&T specifications and conceptual subsystem designs
Define F&T architecture, set budgets and create conceptual designs for subsystems
Specify tests and integration requirements to close the V-cycle
Set up modeling and analysis strategy and translate results to system performance
Ensure hardware meets applicable safety standards and quality requirements
Manage stakeholders and lead by example to drive ownership of deliverables
Build internal and external networks to support growth and success
Champion introduction of new technologies and solutions to push boundaries

Key requirements

Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics
10+ years of experience in the F&T field within high-tech systems/equipment design
Ability to operate across abstraction levels from detailed engineering to architecture decisions
Broad orientation and understanding of how F&T fits in a multi-disciplinary context
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
Skilled in modeling and analysis methods
Experience with standard F&T component definition and selection
