As a Mechanical Architect, you translate complex customer needs into robust mechanical architecture for high-tech systems. You collaborate across disciplines to shape specifications, subsystems, and validation plans within the V-model, driving innovation and technical leadership. You guide multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholders, and foster ownership for delivering high-quality designs. This role sits at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, software and mathematics to bring advanced equipment to life. You will be at the heart of challenging projects in the Brainport region and beyond.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers, fellow architects, Project Manager, Account Manager, and project teams to ensure alignment
Translate customer needs into specifications and define mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs of subsystems
Specify test and integration requirements to complete the V-model and ensure design quality
Build and maintain internal and external networks to support growth and success
Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and applying theoretical principles in projects
Lead by example to motivate designers and engineers to take ownership of deliverables
Manage broader, more complex scopes including stakeholder management, technical leadership, and guiding larger multidisciplinary teams

Key requirements

MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
Proven track record in mechanical design within high-tech systems/equipment
10 to 15 years of experience in mechatronic and precision system design
Broad multidisciplinary orientation and understanding of system integration
Strong analytical and abstract thinking with proficiency in various analysis methods
Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
Recognized as a technical leader with deep knowledge in design, mechanisms, precision mechanics, and DfX
