In this role you will lead clinical operations across the market to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and regulatory readiness. You collaborate with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives and align physician services with the hospital’s mission. You act as the primary clinical liaison between hospital leadership and regional CMOs, identifying opportunities for improvement and reducing variation. You will shape clinical strategy, foster physician engagement, and oversee medical staff administration to sustain excellence in outcomes and safety. This is a mission-driven, high-impact leadership role in a multi-site healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Oversees clinical performance across quality, safety, experience, and efficiency
Serves as the primary liaison between Regional CMO and Hospital CMOs to communicate priorities
Collaborates with Regional CMO and Market Chief Nurse Executive to support goals, reduce variation, ensure regulatory readiness
Partners with Market President to set strategic direction and strengthen market position
Sponsors Physician Engagement Council initiatives and hospital physician well-being efforts
Participates as a senior member of the market executive team for planning and policy execution
Partners with Physician Enterprise on developing physician networks and expanding non-acute services
Supports recruitment and onboarding of physicians to the staff
Provides leadership for medical staff administration and professional relationships
Monitors clinical performance metrics and engages Regional CMO for underperforming facilities

Key requirements

Active medical license in the hospital location state
Board certification by ABMS or NBPAS
Minimum five (5) years of medical practice
Minimum five (5) years in Hospital CMO or equivalent senior leadership role
Advanced degree in business, medical or healthcare management, preferred
