Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will apply lean manufacturing to improve safety, quality, and productivity while supporting machinery, tooling, and production systems. You will coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to enhance equipment reliability and process performance. You will oversee installation and ramp-up of new equipment and drive improvements through CAD-enabled design and process analysis. This position offers cross-functional collaboration, hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to standardize processes across sites.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production systems.
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Planning to improve reliability, safety, and quality.
Support installation, qualification, and ramp-up of new equipment, including capability studies and process verification.
Serve as engineering contact for machining changes, documentation, and tool/program updates.
Design and improve jigs, fixtures, tooling, and replacement parts using 2D/3D CAD.
Apply lean concepts to improve cycle time, OEE, labor efficiency, cost, and process performance.
Troubleshoot equipment/process issues and provide technical support to maintenance and production.
Assist with automation adjustments, including robot teaching, vision system changes, and nutrunner calibration.
Develop replacement part requirements, maintenance schedules, and reliability improvements.
Plan and support budgeting for new equipment, tooling, and program investments.
Maintain engineering documentation and drawing control for changes.
Prepare technical updates and project status reports for cross-functional and leadership teams.
Collaborate with local/global teams to share best practices and standardize processes.
Participate in cross-functional activities, audits, and customer visits as needed.

Key requirements

Knowledge of automotive manufacturing, TQM, and engineering best practices.
Ability to support manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and continuous improvement.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities in manufacturing/engineering.
Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Planning.
Ability to read, interpret, and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
