As Managing Director, you will lead the growth of Armanino’s Valuation and Financial Modeling practice by expanding revenue, market presence, and talent. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor on complex valuation matters and drive multi-disciplinary engagements across advisory practices. You will mentor teams, oversee engagement quality, and build senior relationships with clients and centers of influence. This role offers a strategic opportunity to shape a high-impact practice within a top national firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead growth and strategy for the Valuation and Financial Modeling practice, including revenue, market expansion, talent development, and quality control
  • Drive new business development through networking and relationship building with clients, private equity sponsors, investment bankers, and other centers of influence
  • Advise clients on complex valuation and financial modeling matters (financial reporting, tax planning, transaction support, etc.)
  • Oversee complex engagements ensuring technical quality, timely delivery, and alignment with execution standards
  • Collaborate with the Forensics practice to deliver integrated solutions across valuation and related services
  • Develop senior executives and valuation professionals; foster a growth-oriented team culture
  • Manage engagement economics including budgeting, realization, utilization, billing, and profitability
  • Provide strategic oversight of financial analyses using income, market, and asset-based approaches
  • Support valuation analyses for ASC 805, ASC 350, 409A/ASC 718, tax, M&A, and litigation needs
  • Represent the firm as a thought leader through speaking, publications, and professional networks
  • Promote cross-practice opportunities and a commercial mindset across Valuation and Forensics teams

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of valuation experience in a major firm or equivalent
  • Valuation or finance credentials such as ASA, CFA, CPA/ABV, CEIV, CVA, CVFI preferred
  • Proven success in expanding client relationships and sourcing new business
  • Extensive experience leading complex valuation and financial modeling engagements and mentoring teams
  • Experience collaborating with forensic accounting, litigation, tax, and other practices to deliver integrated services
  • Recognized industry presence through speaking, publications, or professional associations
