As Managing Director in Kroll's Global Property Tax Advisory, you will lead multiple engagements—from property tax appeals to pre/post acquisition diligence—driving value for clients through expert valuation and strategic planning. You will guide teams, manage client relationships, and coordinate with outside experts to deliver timely, high-quality tax solutions. This role offers high impact in a renowned risk and financial advisory firm and the opportunity to shape property tax strategy for diverse portfolios. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams to push for tangible client outcomes and growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and review valuation reports using cost, sales, or income approaches to support property tax appeals
Identify and quantify obsolescence and exemption opportunities
Prepare written explanations for appeals
Present to state/local assessors and negotiate settlements
Develop practical tax planning approaches aligned with client tax situations
Lead client engagements and implement tax planning recommendations
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality final work products
Oversee selection of outside attorneys, appraisers, and experts
Build and maintain client relationships to sustain a project pipeline
Direct and mentor client service team members

Key requirements

Minimum 10 years of property tax consulting experience
Demonstrated expert knowledge in valuation assessments, appeals, and litigation support
Broad knowledge of property tax laws across various jurisdictions
Proven ability to defend scope of work before appeal boards and courts
Strong command of valuation theories and principles
Excellent project management and presentation skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel for valuation modeling
Experience leading a team of professionals
Ability to motivate others in a professional services environment
