As Managing Director in the Office of the CFO, you will shape and scale controllership and strategic finance for middle-market clients. Responsibilities
- Lead full-lifecycle engagements across strategic finance, data analytics, accounting advisory, and finance transformation
- Advise executives and lenders on FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and value-creation strategies
- Provide strategic and technical guidance on complex accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842) and related financial reporting
- Guide clients through transformation and transaction scenarios (M&A, carveouts, operating model changes)
- Develop and deploy scalable processes, frameworks, and analytic tools for middle-market OCFO functions
- Design dashboards and analytics-driven visibility tools using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python
- Recommend and lead ERP, financial close, consolidation, and automation implementations
- Oversee multiple concurrent engagements, providing advisory and interim management as needed
- Coach and mentor junior team members; lead internal trainings and best practice sharing
- Lead business development and client relationship efforts; participate in firm-building initiatives
- Contribute to a high-performing, inclusive, values-driven culture
- Lead talent acquisition and contribute to cross-functional collaboration in a fast-moving environment
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 15+ years in financial consulting, strategic finance, audit, banking, or performance improvement
- Experience leading finance functions or transformations
- Proficiency with analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python)
- Experience evaluating and deploying ERP/financial technology tools (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, OneStream, FloQast, Adaptive, Kyriba)
- Strong executive communication and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail and ownership mindset
- Willingness to relocate to multiple U.S. cities and work onsite four days a week
