In this role you will lead a Technical Services and Operations team to define, select, implement, and support scalable, highly available IT environments. You will drive operational excellence across IT and collaborate with senior leadership to improve processes and implement best practices in a hybrid legacy–cloud setup. You will oversee IT operations, security, disaster recovery, and service delivery, shaping roadmaps, metrics, and budgets. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise solutions and partner across IT and business units to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design/implementation/reporting improvements for processes and technologies
  • Ensure 24x7x365 IT service delivery including ITSM, monitoring, backups, patching, capacity planning, asset management and reporting
  • Coach employees, set expectations, manage goals and HR activities
  • Provide direction for business projects requiring I&O services and ensure integration into Ryder SDLC
  • Manage departmental budget, including licensing, asset lifecycle, and cost management
  • Provide foundational information security controls across technology and processes
  • Collaborate with PMO to enhance SDLC for IT Operations
  • Manage cross-team projects impacting multiple business units
  • Foster partnerships across IT and business and stay current with ITSM developments
  • Lead project execution methodologies with the team
  • Maintain currency in new ITSM developments and technologies
  • Provide Audit and oversight for IT Operations functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience with focus on IT Operations
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Operations technologies and processes (endpoint, network, server, SAN, monitoring, backup, patching, DR, ITSM)
  • Strong IT Security background (IT Risk, Vulnerability Management, best practices)
  • Proven experience in a technical support group and with technical Project Management
  • Understanding of IT Operations service delivery
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information systems, computer science, or similar
  • Travel 1-10%
  • No DOT regulatory requirements
