In this role you lead the Regional Technical Sales & Application team for North America, driving adoption of innovative ingredients across key markets. You work closely with sales, marketing, and global R&D to deliver value-based solutions and support growth. You combine leadership, technical application expertise, and customer engagement to translate needs into market-ready applications. This is a high-impact role at a fast-growing ingredients company, offering cross-functional collaboration and opportunities to shape regional strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation and technical market introduction, including regional implementation of roadmaps and launches
  • Develop and support regional application strategies demonstrating ingredient performance
  • Translate customer requirements and market insights into inputs for global R&D and marketing
  • Provide technical expertise to support lead generation and opportunity development
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to increase market penetration in the EMEA region (region-specific phrasing retained from description)
  • Apply value-based selling to identify and validate customer needs
  • Support regional customers via the technical sales team and engage with key strategic accounts
  • Organize training sessions and workshops to optimize ingredient usage
  • Build strong technical partnerships with customer teams
  • Manage and develop a team of Technical Sales Specialists and Application Developers
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture with continuous learning
  • Serve as a liaison between regional technical sales, commercial teams, and global R&D
  • Collaborate with marketing, quality, regulatory, and product management teams
  • Share market insights and application knowledge across the organization

Key requirements

  • Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in technical sales, R&D, or ingredient applications
  • Proven track record with B2B ingredient portfolios, ideally including dairy proteins, hydrolysates, or GOS
  • Strong experience in technical sales and value-based selling
  • Understanding of innovation dynamics in the B2B ingredients market
  • Knowledge of Adult Nutrition or Early Life Nutrition markets
  • Experience developing or supporting applications such as protein bars, RTDs, shakes, and performance nutrition products
  • Ability to translate customer needs into technical ingredient solutions
  • Experience managing or mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Strong commercial mindset and customer orientation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate in matrix and cross-functional organizations
  • Proactive, resilient, and comfortable in a dynamic commercial environment
