In this role you will lead PR for Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen, shaping the brands’ external narrative and partnership strategy. You will drive brand collaborations and celebrity partnerships, manage media relations, and serve as the primary media spokesperson when needed. You’ll oversee PR programs, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful, brand-aligned communication and crisis readiness. This position offers a chance to influence national press strategy and mentor a growing PR team.

Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of brand collaborations from outreach to launch, ensuring alignment with brand values
- Identify and pitch opportunities for celebrity partnerships and brand collaborations
- Create and manage annual PR budgets aligned to brand initiatives and drive cost efficiency
- Lead creation of press materials (releases, media kits, pitches) and ensure consistency with brand voice
- Monitor media coverage and provide insights to refine PR strategies
- Coordinate media sample and image requests with the Sr. PR Coordinator
- Act as company spokesperson for media opportunities when appropriate
- Mentor junior PR team members and foster a collaborative environment
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications and Legal on crisis communications as needed
- Build relationships with national media across digital, print, and broadcast
- Plan seasonal press strategies and media previews
- Work with cross-channel partners on brand partnerships and celebrity launches
- Develop PR recaps to report weekly, quarterly, and yearly results
Key requirements
- 6+ years in consumer public relations and retail
- Proven ability to serve as company spokesperson and maintain top-tier media contacts
- Expertise in media relations, event planning, PR writing, and budget planning/forecasting
- Flexibility and creativity to manage multiple projects in an entrepreneurial environment
- Experience with both agency and in-house teams preferred
- Strong cross-functional advisory capabilities and executive-facing collaboration
- Independent, proactive work ethic and strong initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with media monitoring and reporting tools
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or public relations a plus
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- MuckRack experience
- Ability to handle multiple projects with minimal direction
