As Manager of Global Cyber Defense, you will lead Celonis’ Security Operations and Incident Response on a global scale to safeguard data, infrastructure, and cloud-native environments. You’ll architect defenses, define standards, and run a modern SOC while translating threat insights into secure software delivery. Your leadership fuels a security-first culture across Engineering, Product, and IT, blending proprietary and open-source tooling to deter advanced threats. This role offers high-impact work shaping the resilience of the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform and customer business processes.

Responsibilities

Build and scale a global cyber defense team of engineers and analysts
Define and maintain enterprise cyber defense frameworks and incident response playbooks
Own the SOC architecture, tooling, and operations
Oversee rapid threat identification, containment, and remediation
Evaluate and integrate security technologies with emphasis on automation, telemetry, and SIEM
Lead threat modeling, breach simulations, and tabletop exercises
Collaborate with Learning teams to institutionalize security playbooks and upskill staff
Establish and report on cyber defense KPIs to leadership
Manage the cyber defense roadmap within an agile framework

Key requirements

Proven track record mitigating advanced threats and APTs
Foundational SOC design knowledge including logging, network segmentation, cloud telemetry, honeypots
Strong security of enterprise SaaS and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Ability to automate and orchestrate incident response workflows
Familiarity with risk management and threat frameworks (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent experience
Proven leadership of technical teams and handling high-pressure situations
Excellent English communication for executive reporting
