In this role, you drive strategic client development for Goodwin’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practices, partnering with practice leaders to shape market positioning and growth. You will lead high-value pitches, oversee client relationships, and orchestrate cross-practice initiatives across global offices. You’ll align BD plans with firm strategy, manage budgets and events, and ensure compelling, consistent messaging. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive BD plans for primary and sub-litigation practices aligned with growth priorities
- Advise litigation practice leaders on market positioning, client targeting, and cross-selling
- Oversee high-value pitch and RFP responses, including fee proposals and value differentiation
- Direct client relationship initiatives to institutionalize key litigation clients and expand revenue
- Provide reporting on BD performance: pipeline, win/loss, referrals, ROI on events
- Lead cross-practice and cross-geography BD initiatives and industry-aligned campaigns
- Coordinate competitive intelligence with Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Manage integration and onboarding for lateral partners and senior hires in litigation
- Identify and manage key events, sponsorships, conferences aligned with growth strategies
- Oversee budgets for litigation marketing memberships, events, and initiatives
- Supervise event strategy, including contracts, targeting, and ROI analysis
- Ensure litigation materials and web content are current and aligned with messaging
- Oversee matter tracking and experience management for proposals and rankings
- Lead rankings and league tables strategy in partnership with Communications
- Coach partners on personal BD strategies and accountability
- Partner with Communications to shape PR and thought leadership for visibility
- Provide leadership and mentorship across the BD team for litigation initiatives
- Drive operational efficiencies and best practices across BD activities
Key requirements
- 8+ years in BD, practice management, or marketing in AmLaw 100 or similar professional services
- Experience supporting litigation or dispute resolution preferred
- Proven ability to lead complex RFPs and strategic initiatives
- Experience managing or mentoring teams preferred
- Strategic thinker with leadership, project management, analytical, and budgeting skills
- Ability to influence senior partners in a fast-paced professional services environment
- Strong executive presence and professional communication skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple initiatives in a matrixed org
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with CRM systems preferred
