In this role you lead the US CLAW Engineering team for the AW609 Flight Control System, driving engineering targets and certification activities. You will coordinate across geographies, align processes, and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality FCS deliverables. You’ll manage certification plans with FAA/EASA and support program objectives for rotorcraft systems. This position combines people leadership with technical governance, influencing cross-functional outcomes.

Responsibilities

Direct and grow the US CLAW Engineering team and oversee day-to-day management
Coordinate with FCS stakeholders across geographies and with LHD Engineering teams
Ensure adherence to tools, processes, and certification requirements (FAA/EASA)
Lead certification activities planning and FAA concurrence processes
Manage AW609 FCS Integration Lab and testing activities
Develop cost and schedule plans, monitor with Earned Value Management (EVM) practices
Mentor engineers, identify training opportunities, and assist HR in recruitment
Support concept development and proposal preparation for major projects (US Future Vertical Lift, NATO Vertical Lift)
Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines for design, development, testing, and certification
Travel internationally and domestically up to 10–20%
Develop US CLAW Engineering team and governance for SOW, schedule, and budget
Oversee compliance with Part 21/Part 145 engineering activities related to flight control systems
Coordinate with Italy-based FCS group for certification activities

Key requirements

Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering
10 years of technical engineering experience
5 years of FAA or EASA certification experience for complex systems
5 years of project management experience
5 years of leadership or management of an engineering team
Strong understanding of flight control system components and avionics integration
Experience with environmental qualification practices for DAL-A systems
Proven experience with FAA certification processes
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work with diverse, multi-geography teams
Willingness to travel up to 10–20%
