Manager / Team Leader
Experteer Overview
In this role you will lead and grow the US CLAW/Flight Control System team to meet engineering targets and certification commitments. You will coordinate cross-geography CLAW activities with the FCS function to ensure coherent execution and adherence to tools and processes. You will drive certification readiness with FAA/EASA, manage schedule and cost plans, and mentor engineers while coordinating with international partners. This is a chance to shape the AW609 FCS program and contribute to multi-program rotorcraft objectives in a high-integrity environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the CLAW Engineering team in the US and coordinate with LHD in US, Italy, and UK
- Ensure alignment with established tools and processes and drive process improvements across geographies
- Oversee system-level validation activities and coordinate FAA certification audits
- Maintain the AW609 FCS System Certification Plan and facilitate FAA concurrence
- Manage FCS integration lab, test activities, and related schedule/cost plans (EVM)
- Develop the US CLAW team; mentor, train, and participate in recruitment and interview efforts
- Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines for design, development, testing, and certification of rotorcraft systems
- Support FAA/EASA certification processes and coordinate with Italy-based FCS group on certification activities
- Contribute to aircraft concepts and proposal prep for major projects like US Future Vertical Lift and NATO Vertical Lift
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 10–20%
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering (or closely related field) with 10 years in technical engineering roles
- 10 years’ experience in design, development, test, analysis, and qualification of Flight Control Systems
- 5 years in FAA or EASA certification of complex systems
- 5 years in project management
- 5 years in leading or managing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of flight control components, avionics integration, and aeromechanics for certification
- Proven experience with FAA certification processes
- Ability to develop, communicate, and execute plans across a large organization
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with negotiation abilities
- Integrity and technical excellence in interface with certification authorities
