In this role you will lead the Mobile Robotics Control team at Symbotic, shaping the control software that powers our autonomous Symbot mobile robots in high-density warehouses. You will mentor a 10-15 engineer team, develop simulation and validation tools, and coordinate with software groups to deliver high-quality releases. You’ll tackle challenges in robotics control and real-time systems across perception, estimation, planning, and controls, delivering impact at scale. This role offers the chance to drive cross-functional collaboration and advance autonomous warehouse technology in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead identification and resolution of problems in robotics control software for mobile platforms
Drive development of simulation and validation tools for robust software engineering
Collaborate cross-functionally with software teams to plan and deliver releases
Ensure project plans and delivery commitments are met on-time
Coach, mentor, and lead a diverse group of 10-15 software engineers
Promote and instill best practices in software engineering development
Contribute to recruitment and workforce development to attract top talent

Key requirements

8+ years engineering experience; at least 2 years in a software team leadership role
MS or BS in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Proven leadership in Agile environments
Demonstrated success delivering complex robotics systems
Strong understanding of robotics control software and real-time systems
Experience in perception, estimation, planning, or controls
Proficiency in C++, familiarity with scripting languages, data analysis tools, Linux, and Git
Hands-on problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills
