In this role you will design and implement modernization solutions for customers’ digital transformations, focusing on mainframe legacy environments. You’ll lead technical efforts across architects, developers and IT teams, establishing patterns, delivering pilots, and guiding engagements globally. You work with cross-functional stakeholders to promote the Rocket Enterprise Portfolio/Enterprise Server modernization approach. This position offers the chance to shape modernization strategies across infrastructure, apps, and processes in a mission-driven, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Design scalable, high-availability solutions on Rocket Enterprise Portfolio/Enterprise Server
Provide architectural guidance to customers and partners to enable successful engagements
Create PoCs and technology pilots; deliver technical content for blogs, whitepapers, and conferences
Lead technical teams across business, development, and infrastructure units
Align partners with modernization methodologies and deliver customer-focused outcomes
Share expertise through trainings and internal/external presentations

Key requirements

4–10 years of experience leading mainframe and legacy modernization initiatives
Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and modern platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker)
Analytical mindset for testing and defect resolution
Knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Rexx, VSAM
Experience designing distributed/cloud environments and API/microservices concepts
Business and IT architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, Azure, SAFe)
Fluent English; willingness to travel
