Senior Specialist / Project Manager
Experteer Overview
In this role you lead the facility’s operations to deliver quality, compliant care. You’ll align policy, governance, and performance with the organization’s mission and collaborate across departments to support residents, families, and regulators. You shape plans, budgets, and action plans to address deficiencies and improve services. You will partner with the governing board and medical staff to sustain a safe, respectful, and well-managed environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and direct the facility's programs and activities
- Create and maintain policies and procedures; review annually for regulatory compliance
- Draft and maintain job descriptions; support performance evaluations
- Foster cross-department collaboration and ensure policy adherence by all stakeholders
- Represent the facility in top-level meetings and report to the governing board
- Support infection control efforts and compliance with safety, PPE, and hazardous materials policies
- Participate in facility surveys and develop corrective action plans; communicate findings to the board/ombudsman
- Oversee recruitment of department directors and ensure adequate staffing
- Coordinate financial oversight: operating budget, accounting system, and review of monthly statements
- Ensure resident rights, confidentiality, and quality nursing/psychosocial services
- Maintain liaison with residents’ families and the community; manage public relations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA training and in-service education; oversee training programs
- Maintain facilities’ physical plant and safety programs; monitor accidents and corrective actions
- Approve purchases of major equipment and supplies within policy
- Ensure regulatory reporting and record-keeping to government agencies
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ executive-level healthcare experience
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care setting
- Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator license or state licensure eligibility
- Strong reading, writing, and spoken English proficiency
- Ability to manage personnel, communicate policies clearly, and supervise diverse staff
- Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices, and long-term care laws/regulations
- Proven budgeting, financial analysis, and cost reporting capabilities
- Familiarity with computer systems and office equipment
- Patient/resident-centered leadership and cross-functional collaboration
