Senior Specialist / Project Manager
Experteer Overview
In this role you lead the facility’s operations to deliver quality resident care while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with the governing board, medical staff, and department leaders to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and policies. You drive performance, risk management, and financial stewardship to sustain quality care and community trust. You will shape the culture through engagement, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities
- Develop and maintain written policies and procedures; ensure annual reviews and regulatory alignment
- Develop and maintain job descriptions; support performance evaluations and cross-department collaboration
- Ensure policy compliance by all staff; represent facility in top-level meetings and reports to governing board
- Assist Infection Control Coordinator on exposure-related tasks; participate in facility surveys and corrective action planning
- Oversee recruitment, supervision, and discipline; maintain liaison with families, residents, and public
- Monitor safety, infection control, hazardous materials handling, and OSHA compliance; review accident reports
- Assist in budgeting, financial statements, and regulatory submissions; ensure adequate staffing and resources
- Provide training and in-service education; ensure residents receive medical, nursing and psychosocial services
- Maintain confidentiality, residents' rights, and a positive, calm facility atmosphere
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Minimum 5 years' executive-level experience
- Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care facility
- Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license or state licensure compliance
- Strong reading, writing, and spoken English skills
- Ability to communicate policies and regulations effectively to staff, residents, families, and agencies
- Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices, and long-term care laws/guidelines
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret programs and procedures
- Familiarity with personnel administration laws and guidelines
- Patience, tact, and enthusiasm with a focus on staff and resident welfare
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and maintain good personnel relations
- Proficiency in reading financial records and use of computer systems
