As the Nursing Home Administrator, you will lead facility-wide programs and operations to ensure compliant, high-quality care. You’ll work closely with the governing board, medical staff, and department leaders to implement policies, budgets, and performance improvements. Responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities
Develop and maintain written policies and procedures; review annually for regulatory compliance
Develop and maintain job descriptions; support performance evaluations across departments
Assist department directors in policies, procedures, and teamwork; ensure adherence by all personnel
Represent the facility at top level meetings; report to governing board
Assist Infection Control Coordinator on exposure-related tasks; participate in surveys and plan corrections
Maintain liaison with families and residents; manage public relations and committee reporting
Recruit, supervise, and develop staff; ensure adequate trained personnel on duty
Oversee safety, labeling, PPE use, hazardous waste handling, and infection control practices
Authorize major purchases; manage budget and accounting; review monthly financial statements
Ensure resident rights, privacy, and self-determination; manage resident funds and services
Maintain confidentiality and a calm, positive facility atmosphere
Ensure compliance with OSHA trainings and long-term care regulations
Review resident complaints and ensure timely notice for discharges
Ensure staff training, in-service classes, and ongoing professional development
Ensure infrastructure maintenance, accident prevention, and quality improvement actions
Maintain relationships with governing board, medical staff, and government agencies
Ensure compliance with regulations for personnel administration and payroll
Terminate personnel when necessary following proper procedures
Oversee and interpret policies to residents, families, and external entities
Maintain and interpret regulatory, safety, and financial records to comply with authorities

Key requirements

Bachelor degree (required)
5+ years of executive-level experience
2+ years supervisory experience in hospital or long-term care
Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator license or comply with state licensure requirements
Strong reading, writing, and spoken English skills
Effective communication with staff, residents, families, and government agencies
Knowledge of reimbursement regulations and long-term care laws and guidelines
Ability to supervise and harmonize personnel; plan, organize, and implement programs
Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and cost reporting
Computer literacy and experience with office and accounting systems
Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure safety and quality of care
Non-threatening, tactful demeanor and patience in handling diverse stakeholders
Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
