Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will oversee the facility’s programs, policies, and operations to ensure compliant, high-quality care. You will partner with department leaders to drive performance, budgeting, and regulatory adherence while maintaining a positive, collaborative culture. You will lead inspections, surveys, and action plans to address deficiencies and protect resident well-being. This position offers scope to shape quality care, staff development, and community relations in a respected senior care setting. You will be the liaison to the governing board and medical staff, reinforcing transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures; ensure compliance with regulations
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions; assist in performance evaluations
  • Assist in policies, procedures, and cross-department collaboration to promote teamwork
  • Ensure adherence to policies by all employees, residents, and visitors
  • Represent the facility in top-level meetings and report to the governing board
  • Assist Infection Control Coordinator on exposures and routine facility inspections
  • Develop plans of correction for survey deficiencies and communicate to governing board and ombudsman
  • Maintain resident/family liaison and oversee public relations
  • Recruit, supervise, and align departmental directors and staff; supervise discipline as needed
  • Ensure safety, fire protection, infection control, and hazardous materials compliance
  • Oversee budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting; ensure regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate staff training (OSHA, in-service programs) and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights and quality of life
  • Monitor resident care services to meet nursing, medical, and psychosocial needs

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years' executive level experience
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience in hospital or long-term care
  • Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator license or state licensure
  • Proficiency in English; strong communication with staff, residents, families, and agencies
  • Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices, and long-term care laws
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement programs and procedures
  • Familiarity with personnel administration, budgeting, and financial interpretation
  • Ability to work harmoniously with staff and supervise effectively
  • Computer systems literacy and office equipment familiarity
