Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will oversee the facility’s programs, policies, and operations to ensure compliant, high-quality care. You will partner with department leaders to drive performance, budgeting, and regulatory adherence while maintaining a positive, collaborative culture. You will lead inspections, surveys, and action plans to address deficiencies and protect resident well-being. This position offers scope to shape quality care, staff development, and community relations in a respected senior care setting. You will be the liaison to the governing board and medical staff, reinforcing transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities
Develop and maintain written policies and procedures; ensure compliance with regulations
Develop and maintain job descriptions; assist in performance evaluations
Assist in policies, procedures, and cross-department collaboration to promote teamwork
Ensure adherence to policies by all employees, residents, and visitors
Represent the facility in top-level meetings and report to the governing board
Assist Infection Control Coordinator on exposures and routine facility inspections
Develop plans of correction for survey deficiencies and communicate to governing board and ombudsman
Maintain resident/family liaison and oversee public relations
Recruit, supervise, and align departmental directors and staff; supervise discipline as needed
Ensure safety, fire protection, infection control, and hazardous materials compliance
Oversee budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting; ensure regulatory reporting
Coordinate staff training (OSHA, in-service programs) and ongoing professional development
Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights and quality of life
Monitor resident care services to meet nursing, medical, and psychosocial needs

Key requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 5 years' executive level experience
At least 2 years supervisory experience in hospital or long-term care
Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator license or state licensure
Proficiency in English; strong communication with staff, residents, families, and agencies
Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices, and long-term care laws
Ability to plan, organize, and implement programs and procedures
Familiarity with personnel administration, budgeting, and financial interpretation
Ability to work harmoniously with staff and supervise effectively
Computer systems literacy and office equipment familiarity
